Overview

Combines crop recognition with ripeness judgment to harvest cucumbers automatically at the optimal time.

Project Background & Purpose

This robot precisely recognizes crop position and size, and AI trained on high-quality labeled data judges cucumber ripeness to determine optimal harvest timing. It was built using WIM's own AI data-labeling tool, 'W-Data'. Climate-driven yield variability, combined with an aging rural population and labor shortage, has made harvest work that once relied on skilled labor increasingly unsustainable.
