Overview
A night field test verifying whether a tracked mobile manipulator can climb stairs and slopes to do real work.
Project Background & Purpose
WIM's mobile manipulator — a cobot arm on a tracked base — heads out for a night field test, climbing stairs, slopes, and rough ground to do real work where wheels can't go, confirming feasibility in vertical-terrain environments wheeled robots can't reach.
Components
- Tracked mobile platform
- Collaborative robot arm
- NVIDIA Jetson onboard AI compute
Process Steps
- 1The tracked platform drives across stairs and slopes
- 2Onboard NVIDIA Jetson compute perceives the terrain and surroundings
- 3The cobot arm performs real work while in motion
