Overview

A night field test verifying whether a tracked mobile manipulator can climb stairs and slopes to do real work.

Project Background & Purpose

WIM's mobile manipulator — a cobot arm on a tracked base — heads out for a night field test, climbing stairs, slopes, and rough ground to do real work where wheels can't go, confirming feasibility in vertical-terrain environments wheeled robots can't reach.

Components

  • Tracked mobile platform
  • Collaborative robot arm
  • NVIDIA Jetson onboard AI compute

Process Steps

  1. 1The tracked platform drives across stairs and slopes
  2. 2Onboard NVIDIA Jetson compute perceives the terrain and surroundings
  3. 3The cobot arm performs real work while in motion
