WIM Discusses Robot Control Collaboration with Purdue, UIC and UIUC Labs

WIM met with university research labs across the US Midwest in the third week of October to discuss collaboration on robot control. On October 19, WIM CEO Woojin Jun visited Purdue University and discussed robotics research cooperation in manufacturing and aerospace with researchers including Dr. Changheon Han. On October 22, he spoke with Professor Miloš Žefran of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) about possible collaboration on safety for surgical robots.

With the lab of Professor Justin Yim at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), WIM is discussing applying its PLEM robot control stack to a small jumping robot being developed under a NASA project. In that setup, PLEM would handle low-level control on the NVIDIA Jetson board the lab already uses.

WIM sees US university labs as early users and partners for PLEM, and plans to connect results validated in research settings to its products and US customers.
